Patent images of the alleged Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 leak online

The Mercedes-Benz GLB already has a performance version called AMG 35 (see video), which debuted last summer with a 2.0 I4 rated at 306 hp (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Today, Mercedes has spread pics of what looks like the even stronger AMG GLB 45.

As far as the design is concerned, the newcomer only has marginally different front bumper design and four tailpipes instead of the usual two.

If (or when) it hits the market, the new GLB will likely ship with the company’s know-how inline-four mill that manages to squeeze 387–421 hp (289–314 kW) and 500 Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque from its two liters of displacement. The AMG A 45 S uses the same engine to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds.

The premiere date of the alleged Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 remains unannounced.
