G-Wagen tries on some new Vossen wheels for size

Vossen Wheels has shared images of a Mercedes-AMG G 63 looking like it spontaneously sprouted a Maybach-badged luxury version without telling us.

The off-roader is shown wearing a nice livery that combines a greyish-silver lower body with a deep navy-blue top. A yellow pinstripe separates the two shades while also adding some elegance to the build.

As a dedicated wheel manufacturer, Vossen outfitted this G-Class with its own HF-9 alloys finished in a body-matching silvery tint. The owner of the SUV, who happens to live in South Korea, wanted it adorned with octopus motifs, so those appeared on the spare wheel holder in the back, the hubcaps and the radiator grille where the Mercedes logo once was.

Last but not least, the interior was re-trimmed with grey and yellow leather and sprinkled with navy-blue accents. The 4.0-liter V8 under the hood likely continued to push its standard 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels.

William Stern, the photographer who depicted this charming G-Wagen, also paid a visit to the Vossen factory and filmed an impressive behind-the-scenes video – check it out if you ever wondered how that HF-9 came to life.
