Nissan GT-R takes lessons in hill climbing

Franco Scribante Racing, a professional racing team from South Africa, has unveiled its custom take on the Nissan GT-R. The modded sports car sports a boosted engine alongside an improved aerodynamic kit that includes front and rear wings for optimal hill climbing performance.

The vehicle has been created by Dodson Motorsport and Dynamic Aero Solutions. The latter company designed the all-carbon kit and tested it for efficiency. Aside from the two wings, the aero package includes a front splitter and a bulky rear diffuser. We will see just how efficient these additions are when the car enters the Simola Hillclimb race in early May 2019.

As we said above, this particular Nissan GT-R boasts a seriously modded 3.8-liter V6 engine. The team proudly says it caps its output at 1,600 horsepower (1,193 kilowatts) for the race, but claims that the uncapped performance is closer to a whopping 2,200 hp (1,641 kW).
