Meet THK LSR-05, a future-predicting electric SUV for the Tokyo show

This year’s Japan Mobility Show is shaping up to be a busy enough event, and SN Design Platform will be attending it with a battery SUV concept called THK LSR-05.

The company, which was founded by ex-Nissan Design Director and Nissan GT-R appearance designer Shiro Nakamura, emphasizes that the car is a futuristic study not meant for production. This sounds a bit odd when you notice just how production-ready it looks with smooth body outlines, suicide rear doors and a raised, rounded rear end.

Inside, there is a squared-off steering wheel with a built-in display and a dash screen spanning the entire width of the dashboard. The company promises to unveil ‘an innovative system for cabin transformation’ without providing too many details.

Power for the one-off concept car comes from four electric motors. The two motors at the rear drive the wheels with 126 PS (124 hp / 93 kW) each, while those at the front deliver 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) per wheel.
