Extravagant Strosek-tuned Porsche 911 hits eBay

The signature design of the Porsche 911 has stayed recognizable for many decades thanks, among many other things, to its rounded headlamps. This example currently on sale on eBay lacks those and overall looks like nothing the German carmaker has ever made.

Strosek, the tuning shop responsible for the makeover, has shrunk the headlights so much and recessed them so deeply into the fenders that they look more like tiny nostrils than anything else. The entire front end is new and gives off faint Porsche 964 vibes. But don’t give in to the illusion: the donor vehicle was made in the distant 1976, not in the early 1990s like the generation 964.

Aside from the eccentric-looking body kit, the coupe sports a metallic red livery, 10-spoke wheels with red calipers seen behind the spokes, and a cabin finished in light beige leather. Red accents on the dashboard and in the engine bay help tie the whole together, forming a stylistic unity of sorts – but we would stop short of calling it a masterpiece.

Powering the custom 911 is its stock 2.7-liter flat-lix engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. There is no mention of an engine tune in the listing.
