RUF launches two new Porsche restomods

Porsche specialist RUF has introduced two of its latest projects, a greyish RUF R Spyder and a vivid-blue RUF CTR3 Evo.

Starting with the blue one, it is now powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine twin-turbocharged to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW).  The mill makes use of a dry sump system and direct injection, while six-piston, carbon-ceramic brakes help keep acceleration in check.

The rear suspension ended up with horizontal adjustable shocks, while the front axle received McPherson struts and a brace. The whole cockpit was remade in carbon fiber, and an active, self-adjusting rear wing was installed. RUF neglected to mention how fast the car is.

As for the yellow-grey RUF R Spyder, it landed with a four-liter naturally aspirated six-pot mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The suspension and brakes are the same as above.

The cabin is where things get interesting, though. There is a partition separating the driver’s seat from the passenger’s with a Porsche timepiece built into it. The mirrors are missing, because their role has been relegated to video cameras mounted on the front fenders.

The driver and the passenger have no wind protection aside from small deflectors at the front. The whole body and cabin sports yellow accents, and the seats come with racing-spec safety belts.
