GTA car becomes real thanks to tuners

A unique Porsche 944 rebuilt to look like the Bravado Gauntlet muscle car from Grand Theft Auto video game franchise can be yours in the UK for a modest asking price £12,000 – but it will take a bit extra to restore.

The project was commissioned by David Ginola Desire, a pro footballer from France, and executed by the two hosts of Chop Shop: London Garage show. The main challenge was to make the donor 944 look like a mix between the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger – this is what the in-game counterpart looked like. To ensure maximum semblance, the team came up with all-new bodywork for the project, leaving only the doors, the Targa roof and the brake lights intact.

Some of the muscle car DNA made it under the hood as well – specifically, a Rotrex supercharger was installed along with other sports-friendly mods. In the end, the 944 was able to squeeze around 300 horsepower out of its rather elderly engine. It also received a coil-over suspension kit, performance brakes and a set of 19-inch wheels.

The seller on eBay claims that the car is in good driving condition without major mechanical issues. There are issues with the body filler, though, which has deteriorated in places and needs replacement before panels start falling off. Perhaps this is why the sticker is as low as £12,000. Should the sale fall through, the owner says he will scavenge it for parts.
