Rimac Nevera underway to a new record

Rimac CEO Mate Rimac has posted a fresh video on his social media pages featuring the company’s NEvera hypercar on the autobahn. Replying to one of the commenters, he hinted that the 0-400-0 km/h speed record could soon be updated again after more than five years.

The current champion – the Koenigsegg Agera RS – was able to accelerate from standstill to 400 km/h (248 mph) and brake back to zero in 33.29 seconds. The run was attempted at a federal highway in the USA in November 2017.

The Rimac Nevera is an all-electric hypercar capable of reaching a top speed of 412 km/h (256 mph) and covering a quarter-mile distance in under 8.6 seconds. It also takes 1.85 seconds for it to snap from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 miles per hour). With numbers like these, much will depend on how good it will be at braking from extreme speeds. And if Mate Rimac’s hints were serious, we should find out soon enough.
