Rimac Nevera R crashes through 24 records at once

Back when the original Rimac Nevera EV was introduced, it set 23 new international records. The Nevera R model unleashed this week has already set 24.

The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.72 seconds, doubles this acceleration in 3.95 seconds, triples it in 7.89 and quadruples in 17.35. It runs a quarter of a mile (402 meters) in 7.9 seconds. The actual, officially recorded top speed measured during one of the runs was 431.45 km/h (268.1 mph) – also the best of any electric hypercar around.

Perhaps even more impressively, the new Nevera R can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h and back to zero in 4.12 seconds. With the target speed raised to 400 km/h (248 mph), it still manages to reach it and then stop in just 25.79 seconds. For the other records, check out the image in the header.

According to Rimac, the Nevera R improves upon its predecessor in all aspects, bar none. It was first introduced last summer with a lightweight body construction, improved aero and 2,107 PS (2,078 hp / 1,550 kW).
