Having inherited the production capacities of the bankrupt SsangYong brand, Korean automaker KG Mobility has now announced an all-electric pickup truck with a nostalgic name attached.
The original SsangYong Musso lineup consisted of body-on-frame pickups and SUVs. It went into production in 1993 and went out in 2006. In some countries, the Musso pickup is still being sold under that name. However, in South Korea, it’s been 19 years since the last Musso rolled off the assembly line.
Its all-electric successor is slated to debut in the first quarter of this year. It is called the KGM Musso EV and based on the O100 Concept dating back to 2023 (see video). Unless we are mistaken, it means it uses the same unibody platform as the Torres SUV – no more frame for serious off-roading.
