Manual Subaru BRZ gets the EyeSight assist package

Subaru has confirmed that the new version of its EyeSight drive assist package is coming to the stick-shift version of the BRZ in Japan this fall.

The car manufacturer has been offering the EyeSight features on automatic cars for 15 years now, and has sold over 5,500,000 vehicles with it to this day. The system is getting continually improved: the latest update brought along a full-fledged surround view camera system with an extra front-facing camera to aid in pedestrian recognition.

The company emphasizes that the new version of the package is fully compatible with manual cars, meaning that no functions were omitted. Adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane switching – all of it and more is included.
