In addition to keeping us posted with drag races between the latest cars, Carwow also occasionally unleashes SUVs and trucks on dirt tracks to see which one feels the most at home there. For today, let us watch a fight between a factory-stock Suzuki Jimny and a modified Hummer H2.
The Jimny utilizes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that gives it 101 PS (100 hp / 75 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. A five-speed transmission carries the torque to all four wheels shod in all-season tires.
Going up against the compact SUV is the bulky Hummer H2 powered by a massive 6.2-liter V8 with 393 PS (388 hp / 289 kW) and 563 Nm (415 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is six-speed automatic, and the AWD system is permanent, rather than part-time. Upgraded suspension gives the massive car a clearance advantage, and dedicated off-road tires help, too. On the downside, differential lock controls seem to be malfunctioning in the Hummer.
The video follows the duo through several interesting races, including a hill climb, a trail run with many sharp corners, and a hill descent.
