Video: Can Tesla Model X Plaid outpace SF90 and Aventador on the drag strip?

The Model X Plaid by Tesla is a six-seat utility vehicle that nonetheless packs north of 1,000 horsepower and can rival some hypercars. It is as good as the formidable Ferrari SF90 or the classic V12-packing Lambo Aventador? Carwow set out to determine just that.

The Ferrari comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and as many as three electric motors for a combined output of 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs 1,570 kilos (3,461 pounds).

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is even lighter at 1,525 kg (3,362 lbs), but its 6.5-liter non-turbo V12 lags slightly behind with 770 PS (759 hp / 566 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque.

As for the Model X Plaid, it commands a trio of high-end electric motors joining their efforts for 1,020 PS (1,006 hp / 750 kW) and 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft) of torque. Tipping the scales at 2,539 kg (5,600 lbs), it is also the heaviest of the bunch.
