Toyota has posted another teaser pic previewing its next-generation Century model, which has walked the path from sedan to crossover SUV. The full reveal will be tomorrow, September 6.
Those still doubting the rumors about the new Century being an SUV may cast them away now: the outlines are unmistakable, and the phoenix badge on the radiator grille is immediately recognizable as the Century badge.
The grille itself sports a complex pattern, but seems purely decorative. Toyota never said anything about the Century becoming electric in its next design iteration, but it certainly appears to be the case here. Note also the headlights, which are two-tier now and have J-shaped DRLs attached.
An earlier teaser revealed a rear end fragment with a pillar, a taillight and some of the door.
It seems like the new Century shares its technological base with the Toyota Grand Highlander, but has a four-seat cabin. The powertrain likely comes from the top Lexus TX spec. The latter is a hybrid based on a 3.5-liter V6, with a combined output of 412 PS (406 hp / 303 kW).
