Toyota has introduced the Grand Highlander at the ongoing Chicago Auto Show, an all-new seven-seat SUV that largely remains a mystery save for some details. Here they are.
We know on official terms that there will be three drivetrain options to choose from: a non-electrified 2.4-liter turbo four pot, an electrified 2.5-liter engine and a range-topping Hybrid Max powertrain with 362 PS (357 hp / 266 kW) of combined output.
The platform used is TNGA-K. In terms of distinguishing features, the Grand Highlander has a characteristic radiator grille and smooth door panels with hardly any sculpting done. The roof is level and not slanted.
For the interior, buyers can choose from three trim levels dubbed XLE, Limited and Platinum. Regardless of your choice, there are three full-size seat rows inside suitable for adult passengers, and Toyota says you can still squeeze multiple suitcases into the trunk with all seats occupied.
The infotainment system is standard and measures 12.3 inches across. Power-assisted, heated seats are included in the base spec along with six USB ports, a wireless charger and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package.
