This Toyota Land Cruiser 70 is a $240k AUD home on wheels

Australia-based camping vehicle manufacturer EarthCruiser has unveiled the Extreme XTR250, a luxury motorhome based on the 36-year old Toyota Land Cruiser 70 model.

The car is still available on the southern continent despite its age, and its motorhome conversion comes priced from a hefty $240,000 Australian dollars. Let’s see what the buyer gets for the money.
The roof can be raised by pushing a button on the door, and reveals a 195×138 cm sleeping area for two people.

The ground floor has a sink, an induction stove, a fridge with a freezer compartment, and a dining area with a folding table and a couple of sofas that you can transform into a single bed. A shower cabin stands next to the entrance, sporting a watertight screen and a drain in the floor.

A control system called FinScan provides quick access to various in-car features via a touch-enabled display mounted above the sofa. Paid options include air conditioning, a high-end audio system, a slide-out BBQ set, and a 4G-enabled infotainment system. There is also a 250-liter fresh water tank, an optional outdoor shower, and a heating system.

A lithium-ion battery is used to power all electronic systems, and you can charge it using a supplied charger, a power generator, or solar panels.

Notable off-road mods include heavy-duty differential gear, couplings and brakes, Bilstein shocks, and Black Bear Mud Terrain tires.

A stock 4.5-liter V8 turbo diesel powers the build with 205 PS (202 hp / 151 kW) and 430 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque. Clients are free to choose between five-speed manual or six-speed auto for the transmission.

The EarthCruiser Extreme XTR250 is not available outside of Australia.
