Toyota had sold its Yaris hatchback under a different name, ‘Vitz’, in Japan from 1999 until 2019. It has now made a comeback, but only in Africa, and the car is not the same.
Introduced early this year, the subcompact car is essentially a rebadged Suzuki Celerio with no major differences from the original. It has five doors, is just 3,695 mm (144.3 inches) long and utilizes a simple 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 67 hp (50 kW) and 89 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is five-speed manual by default, but you can grab a DCT for a premium.
