Volkswagen previews the 2025 Golf facelift

Volkswagen has come to the CES show in Las Vegas with some images of the refreshed Golf GTI hatchback. The exterior is still wrapped in camo, but the cabin is already in full view. The full reveal will take place at the end of the month.

Based on the photos, the GTI spec will be getting a new front bumper, slightly flared fenders and a special spoiler. Aside from that, the entire Golf lineup will gain new LED headlights with the update.

The interior looks like it was borrowed almost completely from the company’s other recent models, including the same dashboard and head unit. The transmission tunnel and the steering wheel have also been revised to include more hardware buttons, just like Volkswagen promised us after being bombarded with criticism for relying too much on touch-based interfaces. Having said that, some sensory sliders are still visible in the photos.

An earlier announcement from VW said that, aside from exterior and interior trim improvements, the new Golf GTI would get revised powertrain options and a more up-to-date infotainment system. We should learn more closer to the sales launch scheduled for this spring.
