Volkswagen has posted two eyebrow-raising pictures ahead of a new car reveal. One of them depicts a fluffy white bunny, while the other one is a low-res shot of what appears to be a garage tool rack. We will learn the truth on September 3, but let’s speculate while it’s hot.
The bunny could mean that a special edition of the VW Golf is coming up in North America. The car actually used to go on sale there under the name Rabbit, and while it was a long time ago, the company revived the nameplate in 2019 with a Golf GTI Rabbit Edition (see video).
If so, we would imagine VW using the latest Golf R instead of GTI for this limited production run. Another theory is that the current Golf is simply getting ready for a mid-life refresh, and Volkswagen wants it noticed. Car spotters have already reported seeing the standard 2024MY Golf running pre-production tests.
