VW Passat EV replacement spied testing

Volkswagen has begun the road tests of its ID.7 electric wagon destined to phase out the current Passat model, Carscoops is reporting with a bunch of spy shots.

The company unveiled the estate-shaped ID. Space Vizzion Concept (see video) as far back as 2019, following up with a sedan version on the next year. The sedan is now almost ready for production, while the original estate car is being late.

The test EV in the gallery below does its best to pass off as an ICE car with fake radiator grille decals and exhaust pipes at the rear end.

While not official at this point, Volkswagen will most likely use an updated version of its MEB platform to produce the ID.7. The buyers will allegedly get two battery packs to choose from: 77 and 86 kWh.
