VW Polo no longer made in Europe

The production of the Volkswagen Polo is officially over in Europe.

The final hatchback in the batch rolled off the assembly line in Pamplona, Spain on July 2, ending four decades of production. Going forward, Volkswagen plans to retrofit the Pamplona factory to produce ID.2 EVs. The T-Cross and Taigo models also being manufactured there will stay around for a few years longer.

Customers in Europe will still be able to buy a VW Polo, but it will be imported from South Africa. Other production sites exist in Brazil, China and Algeria.
