Due to the new emission standards entering into force in Europe in January 2021, Volkswagen AG will no longer be offering the four-liter diesel version of its Touareg SUV after producing one final batch titled “V8 Last Edition”.
The exclusive series will use the topmost R-Line spec as the starting point and boast black wheels, as well as dark accents outside and inside the car. The entire production run of 400 cars will go on sale only in Germany on August 17, priced starting from €104,361.
The V8 4.0 version of the Touareg came out only a year ago and was capable of 421 hp (314 kW) along with 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of maximum torque, but the company found it not viable to redesign for compliance with the latest eco standards.
