VW Touran gets a facelift on its 20th birthday

Volkswagen has already sent the Sharan minivan to its permanent retirement, but the compact-sized Touran is still selling. The model turns 20 this year, but rather than discontinue it, the manufacturer decided to go with a refresh.

The latest-gen Touran comes based on the MQB platform (see video) and runs on tech dating back to 2015 with no updates performed in the eight years that passed. The new version that debuted today finally changes that with a fresh infotainment unit design, a restyled dashboard and cruise control with emergency braking added to the base trim.

Things stay unchanged in the drivetrain department, where the Touran relies on a petrol four-pot turbocharged to 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) or a turbo diesel rated at 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW).
