The Wuling Bingo Plus is a cheap electric SUV for China

Chinese automaker Wuling, mostly known for its compact-sized Mini EV, has announced a new production car – a crossover named Bingo Plus. Car News China believes it may cost less than 100,000 Yuan. Here are its first images; a full reveal will take place in a few months.

The new crossover is basically just a modified, enlarged version of the standard Wuling Bingo model (see video). The latter is already being sold in China in as many as eight trim variants offering 203, 333 and 410 kilometers of range (126, 207 and 255 miles). Prices range from 59,800 to 88,800 Yuan.

The new Bingo Plus is slightly bigger at 4,090 mm long, 1,720 mm wide and 1,575 mm tall with 2,610 mm between the axles. The media in China compare it to the BYD Dolphin, likely its biggest competitor on the domestic market. Compared to that one, the Bingo Plus is 35 mm (1.4 inches) shorter and 50 mm (2 inches) narrower but 5 mm (0.2 inches) taller with a wheelbase that’s 90 mm (3.5 inches) shorter.

It is already official that the Plus model will utilize a single electric motor to drive the front wheels with 102 PS (101 hp / 75 kW) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque. Its battery pack will be rated at 50.6 kilowatt-hours. Wuling has yet to reveal the range, but it should be on par with the regular Bingo EV.
