Chinese automaker Hozon Auto has revealed a production car named Neta S (a.k.a. Nezha S), which looks much less elaborate than the last year’s Eureka 03 Concept it is based upon, but delivers in terms of numbers.
The company claims its vehicle comes based on a brand-new tech platform and packs plenty of high-tech equipment, most notably a Level 4 semi-autonomous system that incorporates six cameras, five radars and three lidars. The multimedia is said to support 5G and OTA updates, but the interior remains a mystery otherwise.
On the technical side of things, Hozon promises us a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, the ability to pass a moose test at 80 km/h (50 mph), and record-breaking range options of 800 and 1,100 kilometers (497 and 683 miles, respectively).
Charging the car from a 240kW station for five minutes will replenish 150 km (93 miles) of range, and waiting for 20 minutes will replenish 80%.
The production is scheduled for the second half of 2021. Prices remain unannounced, but we would expect something close to 200,000 Yuan. For a bit of perspective, the Xpeng P7 costs 229,900 Yuan with subsidies applied.
