FAW and Volkswagen have finally removed all the wraps off Tavendor, their next full-size SUV envisioned as a more affordable alternative to the Tuareg model in China. Sales will begin before the end of the year.
The soft-roader comes adorned with numerous light diodes integrated into its front end and roof. Those willing to pay extra will be able to get an R-Line version with its own décor.
Inside, the crossover lacks a distinct center console, instead rotating the interfaces inside to face the driver. Among other things, this includes the main infotainment screen, which is a part of the digital dash panel assembly. The interior accommodates up to five people and offers buttons for switching gears.
As for the powertrain, buyers in China will be limited to a single 2.0-liter turbo engine shipping in two boost options: 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. In both cases, a dual-clutch transmission drives all four wheels.
