A 2012 Ford Mustang massaged by Shelby American to a thousand horsepower will hit the auction block in January 2023. The company only produced 23 such cars, and this one should be especially valuable with only 240 km (149 miles) under its belt.
Shelby made these ‘Stangs based on its standard GT500 model using a high-end water-cooled supercharger to drive the 5.4-liter V8. A short-throw six-speed manual gearbox carried the torque to the rear.
Aside from that, every car received adjustable Eibach shock absorbers, a custom rear axle and some aluminum details. Six-piston front calipers and original 20-inch wheels were also included.
Things stay fresh on the outside thanks to a new hood cover, front splitter and rear diffuser. Inside, changes mostly boil down to a new dashboard and seats. A decade ago, Shelby claimed it had made more than 40 modifications to the GT500. Prices started from $149,000 back at the time.
