Watch the diesel-powered Ford Rangers run tests before launch

Ford announced the next-gen Ranger truck in late 2021 that will be available worldwide. The latest video by PRdiveTV on YouTube shows the model running its pre-production acceleration test in Wildtrak and Sport guises.

Powering the Wildtrak is a potent 3.0-liter diesel V6 turbocharged to deliver 250 PS (247 hp / 184 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, which a 10-speed automatic gearbox directs to the wheels. The vehicle weighs 2,335 kilograms (5,148 pounds) and needs 8.4 seconds to go 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph).

Also featured in the video is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel turbo spec capable of 209 PS (206 hp / 154 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. This one is considerably slower on the uptake than its cousin and needs around 10 seconds to reach the same acceleration.

Be sure to watch the entire video for some bonus off-road test footage.
