Geely previews the Galaxy Starshine 6

The part-electric Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 sedan is slated to go on sale soon and may start around 80,000 CNY (11,200 USD), rumors claim.

While most technical details remain to be revealed, Geely has already posted some photos of the car. As you can see, it features a rather atypical trapezoid grille with vertical bars at the front – we cannot recall another Galaxy vehicle with a grille like that. Added side intakes and original headlights make it look a bit like a Mercedes-Benz.

The rear end features an integrated spoiler, an imitated diffuser and a LED taillight strip spanning the entire width of the car. The light signature is also new, both for Galaxy and for Geely. The interior remains to be shown.

Based on the certification data from before, the Starshine 6 is sized 4,806 x 1,886 x 1,490 mm (187.7 x 73.7 x 58.2 inches) large with a 2,756-mm (107.7-inch) wheelbase. This makes it only marginally smaller than the Geely Preface.

The powertrain is the company’s own Thor EM-i hybrid system packing a 1.5-liter engine with 112 PS (110 hp / 82 kW) and one or more unspecified electric motors. Its full specs remain to be disclosed, but the certification data suggests that there will be batteries sized from 8.5 to 17 kWh to choose from, rated between 50 and 125 km (31–77 miles) of range. Once full, the sedan may be able to exceed 2,000 km (1,242 miles), although we’ll need to wait until Geely confirms this figure.

Once out, the Starshine 6 will slot in under the bigger, Galaxy A7 model, so it may end up slightly more affordable than that one. The A7 currently starts from 89,900 CNY in China.

Geely’s Galaxy lineup of electrified vehicles is highly popular on its domestic market, with 643,400 units sold from January to July 2025.
