Video: GMC Yukon SUV gets nearly 300 extra horsepower

Michigan-based tuner Katech Performance has been modding Corvettes and Camaros for may a year, and has recently added GM-braded SUVs to its portfolio of vehicles as well. This fourth-gen GMC Yukon is their latest tuned entry.

In its stock guise, the Yukon has a 5.3-liter L83 V8 under the hood that pumps out 355 PS (350 hp / 261 kW) and up to 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. This particular example, however, gains aftermarket pistons and connecting rods, a camshaft, a cylinder head assembly, a throttle valve housing and a plethora of other performance-oriented components. Along with the added Garrett GT3076R twin turbos, these ramp the power up to 626 PS (617 hp / 460 kW). The torque skyrockets to 895 Nm (660 lb-ft).

No acceleration times have been provided so far, but it should be self-evident that a 76% increase in power should translate into great numbers across the board.
