Facelifted Kia K9/K900 drops camo in South Korea

The latest spy shots of the Kia K9 sedan (a.k.a. K900) show major styling changes, probably explained by the automaker’s desire to rescue the poorly selling second generation from being a complete fiasco.

Changes at the front end extend as far as the bumper, the radiator grille, the lights and the fenders. Moving on to the rear, there is a new logo, a LED stripe between the taillights, and reflectors beneath the exhaust pipes. The number plate now sits on the rear bumper, rather than the trunk lid.

In all likelihood, the model will ship with the same choice between a 3.8-liter non-turbo V6 and its 3.3-liter turbo counterpart. The fate of the 5.0-liter V8 remains unknown, and we will need to wait to see whether any hybrid specifications will be available.

The debut should take place in the coming months.
