Swedish hypercar builder Koenigsegg has launched the production of its latest and greatest model, the Jesko. Actual deliveries will not start until spring 2022, but in the meantime, the company has celebrated the production start by unveiling a special prototype car.
The pre-production Jesko sports the same orange paintjob as the earlier CCR model that came out in a run limited to just 14 units. It boasts a plethora of silver and carbon-fiber details and has a matching interior with a racecar-style dashboard and a SmartCenter infotainment touchscreen.
The intended production quantity of 125 units is the largest in Koenigsegg’s history so far. Having said that, the company had pre-sold most of the cars ahead of their official premiere at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.
Both the standard Jesko model and its Absolut version with a different body kit make use of a five-liter V8 turbocharged to deliver 1,625 PS (1,603 hp / 1,195 kW) on E85 fuel. A nine-speed semi-automatic transmission sends the momentum to the wheels.
Prices begin at U.S. 2,850,000.
