Exotic Lambo concept goes on sale

Broad Arrow will attempt to sell the unique Lamborghini Pregunta in Europe on October 10, 2025. Designed by French aftermarket company Heuliez right before the automaker was purchased by Audi 27 years ago, the bizarre coupe is expected to fetch between €2.5 and 3.5 million.

Although it runs on the stock Diablo chassis and has the same 5.7-liter V12 mated to a five-speed transmission, the exterior and interior are completely new. The listing claims the designers drew their inspiration from the Dassault Rafale fighter plane. This is especially evident in its glass dome, which resembles an aircraft cabin but can be partially dismantled to reduce weight.

The seller claims that the interior isn’t just retro-futuristic – it informed, or otherwise predated, the designs of many vehicles from the modern era. For instance, there is an actual digital dashboard borrowed from the 1998 Formula 1, a satellite navigation system and a camera-based rear-view system that eliminates the need for mirrors. All these features are par for the course in today’s world, but they were groundbreaking more than a quarter of a century ago.

According to the listing, the car was fully drivable when it was built and felt similar to the Lamborghini Diablo on the road. It reached 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and only maxed out at 333 km/h (207 mph).

Just as Lamborghini and Heuliez were wrapping up work on the concept in 1998, Audi finalized the buyout, and for a few years, the automaker got too busy to develop a production supercar based on it. The Pregunta project was shelved. Heuliez proceeded to take the only example it ever built to various shows and ultimately sold it to a private owner in 2008. For a while, Lamborghini actually displayed the car in its own museum and even issued it an OEM certificate of authenticity – but then returned it to the owner.
