The Malaysian office of Nissan has released a series of ads dedicated to the launch of the Navara Pro-4X on the local market. The videos parody the Fast & Furious franchise and star a Dominic Toretto lookalike driving a pickup truck instead of a Dodge Charger.
One of the vids has a truck robbery scene referencing similar episodes from several F&F installments at once. Street racers on sports cars attempt to force the truck drive to stop by brake-checking it, but lose control and crash.
In turn, Fake Dom avoids collision thanks to the sophisticated assist package of his truck and says something along the lines of ‘Bro, you watched the wrong movies.’
The other vid shows street racers hanging out having a party. Fake Dom arrives in his pickup and steals the spotlight by inviting the girls over to the ‘swimming pool’ in his truck bed. Cringe? Perhaps, but all kinds of car ads do that sometimes.
