Porsche 911 GT3 RS gets a full-carbon body kit from 1016 Industries

Most owners of track-focused supercars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS do not regard customization as a bare necessity. For the rest of us, 1016 Industries has a striking carbon-fiber body kit in store.

The kit includes a front spoiler lip with vertical aero bits ($6000; all prices are rounded) and a front bumper trim ($4,000). Imitated hood vents come in at $4,600, hood louvers add another $3,900, and fender vents cost $6,000. It’s worth noting that, unless 1016 Industries has somehow found a practical application for these, they are purely for show because the 911 GT3 RS has its engine in the back.

Also on the list are new side mirror covers ($2,300), roof rails ($4,000), side skirts ($6,000), side air vents ($3,900) and rear wing end pieces ($3,000). The rear diffuser consists of two parts: the lower one costs $6,000 and the upper one $12,500 because it includes a new bumper. All in all, the complete treatment comes in at a cool $60,000.

The overall design of the car looks largely unchanged with this body kit, since most parts imitate the originals. 1016 Industries and its partner 9|Design point out that many 911 GT3 RS owners would be glad to see their car outfitted with carbon-fiber parts straight from the factory, but Porsche doesn’t offer anything besides matte black plastic.
