The battery-powered Porsche Cayenne reveal remains slated for “late 2025”, but in the meantime, the company unveiled its interior with as many as four screens.
The dash indicators and the multimedia interface reside on gently curved displays. The front passenger gets a dedicated screen, and there is also a HUD. This isn’t exactly new – Porsche’s Taycan and some other high-end models have already shipped with the curved digital dash – but the company now says that these screens will become standard for most of its lineup moving forward.
The HVAC controls stay physical, but everything else has changed. Porsche doesn’t specify the diagonal size of the infotainment display, but points out that the dash measures 14.3 inches corner-to-corner and the front passenger’s screen measures 14.9 inches. The optional projected HUD has a visible diagonal of 87 inches. An AI-powered voice assistant is also on board.
Further options include heated armrests and door panels (where you can be expected to touch those), as well as power-adjustable rear seats. The panoramic roof is dimmable, so it no longer has a sunscreen, and the company proudly calls it the largest ceiling glass ever installed on a Porsche.
Compared to the gas-powered Cayenne lineup, the Cayenne Electric will ship with a much wider choice of options and extras. There will be as many as 13 exterior finish combos, four basic trim variants, five premium trim packages, extended ambient lighting and five infotainment UIs to switch among. A new feature is also coming in the shape of Moods – selectable presets that auto-adjust the lighting, the microclimate, the sound and the seat settings depending on what you’re up to.
When the Cayenne Electric debuts at the end of the year, it will do so with around 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 747 kW) and 600 km (373 miles) of range, according to most rumors. It is also expected to be capable of towing trailers weighing up to 3.5 metric tons (7,716 lbs).
