SCG 004S does a lap of honor in Goodwood

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, a supercar builder led by James Glickenhaus, has come to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this weekend with a production-ready 004S three-seater, which hit the track for a fun drive.

The car has a very unusual appearance thanks to its semi-spherical windshield and seat layout: not unlike McLaren’s F1, it has a driver-seat up front in the middle and two passenger seats in the back.

According to an earlier announcement, the car packs a five-liter turbo V8 coming in versions rated up to 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW). No new specifics were revealed at the show this weekend. Despite being road-legal, the 004S is a track weapon first and foremost, so a fully track-focused version might arrive later if there is a demand.

SCG conducted a crash test of the car last spring (see video) and said that is was satisfied with the results. However, not long ago, it began preparations for another such test, suggesting that the car is still far from finished, after all.

A total of 25 units will be built priced from U.S. $460,000 each. Options will include adjustable shocks, a fire extinguishing system, and plenty of colorful finishes for the carbon body.
