Video: A90 Supra vs. same-engined BMW 4 Series
CarWOW has repeated what others have done before, putting a Toyota GR Supra (A90) up against an example of the latest BMW 4 Series. Both vehicle utilize the same BMW B58 inline-six turbo for propulsion, which they partner with a ZF 8-speed A/T.
The Supra extracts 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) out of its powertrain along with 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, which it sends to the rear wheels. It has a curb weight of 1,495 kg (3,300 lbs) and starts from £53,000 in the UK.
The M440i xDrive is slightly ahead with 374 PS (369 hp / 275 kW) and the same maximum torque. It weighs 245 kg (540 lbs) due to an AWD system and starts from £54,600.
The rolling start race saw both rivals cross the finish line nearly simultaneously, while the other runs had a clear winner.
