Zeekr is already accepting reservations for its SUV-shaped superhybrid capable of 1,400 metric horsepower and a 3.1-second sprint run. There are three trim levels to choose from, called Max, Ultra and Hyper. Prices range from 479,900 to 569,900 Yuan (67,200–79,800 USD).
In the most basic form available, the Zeekr 9X gets a 2.0-liter engine and two e-motors delivering a combined 897 PS (885 hp / 660 kW). It sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and gets up to 300 km (186 miles) of all-electric range from a 55-kWh battery pack. Fill up the tank, and you’ll be able to cover 1,200 km (745 miles), Zeekr claims.
Upgrading to the next trim nets you an optional 70-kWh pack advertised as the world’s largest battery ever installed in a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV).
Finally, the range-topping 9X Hyper gets a third e-motor and 1,400 PS (1,381 hp / 1,030 kW). It uses the same battery as the Ultra spec, but it runs dry after 355 km (220 miles) due to the increased power consumption. On the upside, you can top it up from 20 to 80% in nine minutes. Once fully charged and fueled, this version of the SUV gets 1,165 km (724 miles) of range.
Being a full-size crossover, the 9X is impressively large at 5,239 x 2,029 x 1,819 mm (204.7 x 79.3 x 1,819 71 inches) with a wheelbase spanning 3,169 mm (123.8 inches). It’s only a six-seater despite having a three-row cabin, so the emphasis is made on luxury this time around. The middle seats can swivel 180 degrees, and all seats can be optioned with 22-point massage hardware. All doors are automatic, and the infotainment system uses a pair of 16-inch displays one of which can be accessed by the front passenger. All audio is provided by a high-end 32-speaker system from Naim, a brand best known for Bentley in-car audio.
Things look just as exciting on the technology front. The 9X takes advantage of a state-of-the-art ADAS package featuring five LiDARs and 1,400 TOPS of processing capacity. It’s helped by a 48-volt active roll stabilizer, adaptive shocks, air-ride springs, and a high-end drive system with 10 presets to choose from.
