Zacoe redefines modern BMW M2 with a styling upgrade

Novelties
Chinese automaker Aito has facelifted its M7/Seres SUV lineup. The domestic M7 is set to go on sale in September, while the export-oriented Aito Seres is expected to reach the market a few months later, CarNewsChina reports.
The facelift was carried out in the same vein as the Aito M8 before it. The local media agree that it was rushed into production to save floundering sales. Year-to-date sales in 2025 have plummeted by 71% compared to the same period of 2024, so the automaker must be desperate to keep the M7 afloat.
To that end, it received an exterior overhaul, a new Coral Red finish option and a roof-mounted LiDAR. The addition of the LiDAR makes us think that the company is looking to license Huawei’s ADS 4 package for limited self-driving and electronic assistance functionality.
The dimensions of the hybrid crossover stay unchanged at 5,020 x 1,945 x 1,760 mm (196 x 76 x 68.75 inches). The same goes for the wheelbase, which amounts to 2,820 mm (110.2 inches). Exterior differences boil down to new headlights, a solid front panel where the radiator grille used to be, redesigned door handles and bumpers. It isn’t much, but it does make the SUV look slightly more modern on the whole, which is welcome.
CarNewsChina speculates that the refreshed M7 will be getting the same EREV powertrain as the M8 before it. It drives four wheels with all-electric 526 PS (519 hp / 387 kW) and uses a 1.5-liter engine with 158 PS (156 hp / 117 kW) as a range extender. That’s only the top spec, though.
The base Aito M7 will likely remain RWD with 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW) heading to the wheels from just one motor. Its current version costs from 249,800 to 329,800 Yuan in China, and we fully expect the new one to target the same price point.
More details will be revealed in September when the car goes on sale.
