Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio lineup becomes history

The high-performance Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will remain available in the United States through April 2024, after which the company will only put its Quadrifoglio badge on EVs, Motor1 reports.

Those in North America still have until the end of April to order a gas-powered Giulia or Stelvio Quadrifoglio. In June, both models will go out of production. The statement comes from the U.S. branch CEO Larry Dominique, so it’s all but official. Europe will follow the example of the USA later. The new cars that will come to replace the current Quadrifoglios will be part-electric hybrids.

Both the range-topping Alfa Romeo Giulia and its Stelvio counterpart take advantage of one of the world’s most powerful six-cylinder engine designs. Their 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 mill churns out 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW). Alfa Romeo never said it was going to discontinue this engine, so it might as well become a part of the upcoming hybrid transmission. This isn’t official, though.
