Audi A2 e-tron spotted testing again

Audi’s revived A2 subcompact hatchback was spied on the roads of Germany in late May (see video). It has now resurfaced there, wearing less camouflage than ever.

Based on the images, the resurrected A2 features stacked headlights, same overall body lines and proportions as its discontinued namesake from the early 2000s, and a tailgate window that partially overlaps with the roof. All in all, it looks under four meters (157 inches) long.

Audi said the new A2 would be an e-tron vehicle, which means electric. All specifics remain to be revealed, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it borrow the powertrain from the current Volkswagen ID.3. The production will take place in Ingolstadt, Germany, and the starting price is currently being estimated at €30,000.

Stay tuned for the full reveal of the Audi A2 e-tron this autumn.
