After unveiling its Concept C in September this year, Audi has now procured a street driving permit and a number plate for it. The company hasn’t revealed any details, but it looks determined to demonstrate to us that the prototype could evolve into a mass-market EV.
The vehicle still has no name, but the company hints that it is going to be fully electric. We are also told that it is going to be inspired by multiple iconic vehicles at once, ranging from the Auto Union Type C all the way to the comparatively modern TT and R8. This leads us to think that it might be based on the same platform as Porsche’s electric Boxster and Cayman.
When it unveiled the concept, Audi promised to lean into its styling language for the rest of the lineup. It also confirmed that a production car was in development based on it, complete with a virtual gearbox and an artificial soundtrack sourced from the automaker’s five-cylinder engine.
