The British luxury automaker seems to have settled on a name for its first production electric SUV: Torcal, named after the picturesque rocky expanse of Parque Nacional Torcal de Antequera in Spain.
The model name is also an obvious play on “torque”, so it’s a shame we still have no technical specifications to discuss. Furthermore, the company hasn’t outright confirmed that the Torcal is an EV yet, but there are numerus indications to the fact. When the vehicle was spotted testing in the UK a few months ago, it had no visible tailpipes or audible engine.
When it comes out, the Bentley Torcal will join the company of the marque’s three existing models: the Bentayga, the Continental GT and the Flying Spur. Earlier rumors had claimed that it would be called the Barnato in honor of one of the company’s most renowned executives, Woolf Barnato, but these have now been debunked.
