Can you fathom an abandoned BMW 507 being worth $2M?

This BMW 507 Roadster is 65 years old and hasn’t left the garage in 43 years, but it is underway to auction in three months and expected to fetch between $1.8 and $2.2 million.

The car still retains its Rudge centerlock wheels and removable hard top, which was a paid option back in its time. As for the Blue Metallic exterior, it was resprayed in the early 1970s.

The seller does not mention the mileage, but slightly worn seats prompt the assumption that the car was used prior to being put into storage. Its latest owner had multiple such vehicles and started their engines from time to time to ensure they were running.

BMW only made 252 examples of the model 507 in 1956 through 1960 (watch the video for another example). Each one came powered by a 3.2-liter V8 capable of 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) with dual Zenith carburetors. A four-speed manual transmission let the car hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.1 seconds and max out at 196 km/h (122 mph).
