BMW M4 GT3 gets refreshed for next year, starts just under €0.6M

BMW has updated its motorsports flagship – the M4 GT3 Evo. It received further weight reductions, a more robust chassis, and an enhanced drag profile. The car premiered alongside its M3 cousin before the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, but it won’t hit the racetrack until 2025. Prices for private buyers start from a cool €578,000.

As you may remember, BMW used to coat individual chassis components with paint. The company has now switched to using innovative cathodic dip coating instead, reducing the weight. The darker metallic body parts have also been replaced with carbon fiber for the sake of durability and staying light.

The drag profile has been improved thanks to compact-sized side mirrors and large air vents in the front wheel arches. The rear wing can now be adjusted across a wider range of positions, and the headlights echo those of the normal M4.

New stabilizers and bigger brakes should keep the car stable on track. The transmission gets a better differential with new, simpler settings.

Power for the Bavarian racer comes from its old trusty 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. It delivers 598 PS (590 hp / 440 kW) to the wheels through an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission. All acceleration numbers are pending.
