Encasing a BMW XM in carbon fiber costs $55k

The hulking BMW XM SUV has an instantly recognizable exterior, but those looking to stand out even more can now order an aftermarket trim package from Larte Design.

The body kit seen here is installed on an exclusive XM Label version of the hybrid crossover, which will be limited in production to just 500 units. All parts are still compatible with the standard XM. There is a ventilated hood cover, a two-piece front splitter and a lightweight radiator grille at the front. The sides wear sporty moldings and skirts, while the rear flaunts Formula-style brake lights and a more aggressive diffuser. The dual tailpipes at the sides are also wrapped in carbon for extra style points, if nothing else.

Nothing seems to have been done in the interior and powertrain departments. The entire 17-part kit costs a cool €42,000 (roughly $46,300). A custom 23-inch wheel set adds another €8,500 ($9,400) to the total, so you should be looking forward to spending around $55,000 on the whole package. If that’s too good for you, Larte is offering a premium basalt-fiber version of the kit for 30% less.
