The Smoking Tire has posted a video dedicated to a topless BMW Z3 that had its four German cylinders swapped out for eight American ones. The result was surprisingly good, so be sure to watch the video.
AS you may recall, the Bavarian roadster has an engine bay designed to accommodate a 1.9-liter inline-four engine. The LS1 V8 that made its way there has twice the cylinder count and thrice the volume, but it somehow still manages to fit well. Moreover, the whole car now weighs barely more than it originally did at just 1,450 kilos (~3,200 lbs).
To cope with the extra power, the driver relies on a six-speed manual transmission, sport suspension reinforced brakes and grippier tires. How well the ride handles and how fast it goes you can see for yourself.
