Chinese Chiron rip-off confirmed for CES show debut, EU production

Dreame, a Chinese appliance manufacturer best known for its robot vacuums, announced in late August that it would show Bugatti how cars are made. It’s now clear that the company meant it literally: the supercar isn’t so much inspired by the Chiron as blatantly copied from it (watch the video and compare for yourself).

Both the French original and the Chinese knockoff sport C-shaped sides, a horseshoe grille, nearly identical front bumper and intakes, and more. The Chinese version is considerably larger, indicating that Dreame wants a sedan for its domestic market instead of a less practical coupe. In fact, Bugatti itself unveiled a similar-looking concept called Galibier 16 years ago. It never went into production, though.

With how the exterior is a carbon-paper copy of the Chiron, you’d expect the interior to follow suit – but it actually looks like its own thing. Sure, the steering wheel with two wide spokes and the large display seem copied over, but everything else is original. This goes for the bulky transmission tunnel with capacitive buttons and the bucket seats, among other things.

All powertrain specs remain secret, but Dreame actually aspires to formally introduce the car at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in the United States in early 2026. The company goes as far as to claim that it’s looking for a suitable assembly site near Berlin, Germany to mass-produce the car for Europe.

Back in August, hen it posted the first teaser pic, Dreame said its ambition was to produce “the world’s fastest street-legal car.” One has to wonder what the Bugatti lawyers may have to say about these plans.
