Based on these patent photos published by AutoHome.cn, Buick will soon launch a new crossover SUV in China. Named the Envista, it looks much like the Electra-X Concept from before, sans the electric part.
The two cars have nearly identical silhouettes, similar lights at both ends and matching front ends, although the Envista dials down the bizarre on the front bumper and radiator grille.
However, the original Buick Electra-X was actively advertised as a preview of the marque’s future all-electric cars for China. In contrast, the Envista is a traditional ICE car with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW), which can take it to a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph). The company has not yet commented on whether it might launch an electrified Envista version later.
The crossover SUV is 4,638 mm long with 2.7 meters of wheelbase and wheels coming in sizes up to 18 inches large. The interior remains a mystery, as does the launch date. You may recall that the concept car had a giant 30-inch display on the dashboard, but we would be very surprised to see anything like it in the final production car.
